What order should I apply for these 3 cards…? 1. Citi Custom Cash, 2. Citi Rewards+, 3. US Bank Altitude Connect

I think these 3 cards would be perfect to round out my no annual fee cashback setup. I’m just not sure what order to apply for them in so I can avoid denied applications and get them as quickly as possible.

Credit score: 766

Current setup:

  • Citi Double Cash (just got it, applied on 9/11/24)
  • Amex Blue Cash Everyday (10 months old)
  • Capital One SavorOne (2.5 years old)

I also have a 4-year-old Discover Chrome and a 2-year-old Chase Freedom Unlimited, but they’ve become less useful in my setup.

Any advice on the best order to apply for these 3 cards would be greatly appreciated!

I’d recommend going with the Altitude Connect first, then Custom Cash, and finally the Rewards+.

I don’t need to compare the cards—I’ve already decided on these three. I’m just looking for advice on the best strategy/order to avoid being denied.

I’m talking about the Altitude Connect, not the Reserve, unless I’m missing something?

If you get the Rewards+, your Double Cash automatically gives you 2.2% back.

I don’t know much about the Altitude Connect though.

Not sure if this helps, but if you’re worried about hard pulls showing up on your credit report, my recent application for the US Bank Altitude Reserve pulled from TransUnion. I’m in California, so it could vary based on location.
