I’ve been thinking about getting the Amazon Prime Visa, especially since I buy from Amazon and Whole Foods regularly. The 5% cash back sounds great, but I’m curious about the overall value. Does anyone here use this card? Is it worth it if you already have an Amazon Prime membership? How does it compare to other cash-back cards like the Citi Double Cash or Chase Freedom Unlimited?
I’ve had the Prime Visa for over a year, and if you’re a regular Amazon or Whole Foods shopper, it’s definitely worth it. The 5% back adds up quickly, especially if you do a lot of your grocery shopping at Whole Foods. Plus, there’s no annual fee beyond your Prime membership, so it’s a solid deal if you’re already paying for Prime.

That’s what I was thinking! I already pay for Prime, so the card seems like a good way to maximize my membership benefits.

Exactly, as long as you’re using Prime for shopping, the 5% back makes it hard to beat. Plus, you get some nice perks like travel protections and no foreign transaction fees.
I agree, the 5% cash back is unbeatable if you’re already shopping at Amazon and Whole Foods. However, if you’re looking for a card that gives consistent rewards everywhere, the Citi Double Cash might be a better choice. It’s super simple with 2% cash back on everything, no need to track categories.
@Auden
I do like the simplicity of the Citi Double Cash. Do you use it alongside the Prime Visa, or do you just stick to one card?

I actually use both. I use the Prime Visa for Amazon and Whole Foods, and the Citi Double Cash for everything else. That way, I maximize rewards across the board.
I used to have just the Prime Visa, but I recently added the Chase Freedom Unlimited to my wallet. It’s been a great combo. I use the Prime Visa for Amazon and Whole Foods, and the Freedom Unlimited for 1.5% cash back on everything else. I like having the flexibility.
@Zaneta
That sounds like a good setup. Do you find it easy to juggle multiple cards for different purchases?

It’s not bad once you get used to it. I just keep the Prime Visa for Amazon/Whole Foods purchases and use the Chase Freedom Unlimited for everything else. Works pretty seamlessly.
One downside I noticed is that the Prime Visa doesn’t offer any 0% intro APR, so if you’re planning on making a big purchase and need some time to pay it off, it might not be the best card for that. There are other cards with better introductory offers if that’s something you need.
@Zeke
Good point. I’m not planning any big purchases right now, but it’s something to keep in mind. Thanks for mentioning that!
