Is Chase offering a referral benefit to both parties?

My friend referred me to the Chase Freedom Flex card. He recently received a bonus of 7,000 points ($70). Will I get a bonus too?

In most cases, applying directly without a reference will result in a lower SUB than if there is a “better offer,” but in the absence of one, you are essentially helping your friend out.

Chase’s referral program for the Freedom Flex card primarily rewards the person making the referral. Your friend received 7,000 points ($70) for referring you. However, there isn’t a specific bonus for the person being referred.

As a new cardholder, you can still benefit from the sign-up bonus, which is currently $200 after spending $500 in the first three months.
