It appears that I will need to make some costly auto repairs soon. I want a card with no annual percentage rate (APR) that optimizes rewards. Perhaps a decent introduction rate?
Although I have the money to pay in full, some wiggle room would be wonderful. I most definitely do not want to pay interest of any kind.
For auto repairs without paying interest, consider cards offering an introductory 0% APR on purchases. Cards like the Chase Freedom Unlimited or Discover it Cash Back often have such offers, allowing you to pay off repairs over time without interest. Just make sure to pay off the balance before the introductory period ends to avoid accruing interest.
If you can pay it off in full, I believe it is preferable to take advantage of one of the generous sign-up bonuses than a 0% APR. CSP, Citi Premier, and Bank of America Premium Rewards may be useful for this.
Although I’m not too sure about cards that provide auto shops additional points particularly, Chase Freedom Unlimited is a decent card with a 0% offer and a $200 sign-up bonus. When I enrolled a month ago, they were also offering a 5% discount on food and gas; check to see if that is still available. For all other purchases that are not covered by their rewards program, they offer 1.5% cash back.
Your ability to pursue certain career ambitions may be impacted by student loan debt. If a career with a better wage will enable you to pay off your debts, including your student loan debt, you might have to give up a job that gives you greater joy and purpose.
