Wyndham took away three free nights or 45K points from my welcome bonus. I was given the wrong info about how long I had to meet the minimum spend, and they refuse to admit it. I called multiple times and asked, why would I stop at $3,850 instead of hitting the $4,000 minimum? But they wouldn’t help me. Just wanted to warn others!
Did you miss the $4,000 mark by mistake? I know it’s frustrating, but banks tend to stick to their rules, especially when it comes to welcome bonuses. Spending $3,850 when the requirement is $4,000 can happen if you miscalculate or lose track of time. Banks don’t usually make exceptions, since everything is in writing. And no customer service rep can change the terms.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t matter what someone told you on the phone, because if you missed the spending target within the set time frame, that’s it. It’s not just Wyndham or Barclays, this is true for any bank.
