Without actually applying for a credit card, are there ways to know what credit cards I could be accepted for?

I’ve used cardmatch.com, which is fantastic, however it only offers “pre-approval” for a small number of card providers. I think the only cards that will appear on Cardmatch are Chase, a few Amex cards, Cap One, and Fingerhut. I have been working really hard to turn things around and concentrate on getting more financially healthy, so I don’t want to damage my credit by applying too soon. Have you guys have any ideas?

The websites will give you a decent indication (for preapproval offers, I prefer to soft check with the credit card business directly).

However, nothing can assure you that you’ve been accepted. Since I used to work in banking, I have witnessed both preapproved and disapproved applicants, and those without preapproval get approved right away as opposed to receiving a response that takes seven to ten business days.
