I currently use the Chase Sapphire Reserve (CSR) for all my personal spending and corporate travel, which amounts to about $25-50k per year, including 30-45 days of international travel.
I’m looking to get a separate card for my work expenses to simplify administration. Ideally, I’d continue using the CSR for my daily life and personal travel, but I’m open to switching if necessary.
I’m optimizing for maximum points with minimal effort for personal travel, loyalty rewards, cashback, basic lounge access, etc.
What card would you recommend for work travel expenses? I’m considering the VentureX and Amex Gold. I’ve also heard it might be beneficial to stay within the Chase ecosystem, so I’m looking at the Chase Freedom Flex (CFF) or Chase Freedom Unlimited (CFU).
Hi, The Chase Sapphire Reserve (CSR) is a top-tier travel rewards card, but depending on your specific needs for corporate travel, you might want to consider complementing it with another card to maximize your rewards and benefits.
Utilize the CSR for business expenses to continue earning 3x points on travel and dining. For personal spending, consider getting a different card. I’m interested in the USBAR, but I rely heavily on Apple Pay. The Venture or Venture X cards are excellent options for earning 2x rewards across various categories.
Which kind of business travel are you referring to? Are you able to plan your own journey and receive payment for it? Does this cover lodging, travel, and food? Do you wish to pursue points within the same ecosystem?
