What should I do with my Chase Ultimate Rewards after downgrading to the Freedom Flex? I originally planned to use the points with my Chase Sapphire Preferred to take advantage of the benefits, but life got in the way, and I couldn’t make my travel plans. I didn’t want to keep paying the annual fee, so I downgraded to the Freedom Flex. Now I feel like I lost a lot of value from my Ultimate Rewards points (like 1.5x earning?), and I have almost 200,000 points that I don’t want to waste on simple cash back. Any suggestions on how to make the most of them?
Do you really need cash right now, or are you thinking about using the points later? You could totally hang onto the points for now and use them when you’re back on your feet. Plus, you can always upgrade your Freedom to the CSP or CSR, redeem or transfer those points, and then downgrade again later.
Get another sub on the csp and spend on travel.
Put the $2k into your ROTH IRA.
Honestly, I’d just cash out the almost $2K and invest it.
I mean, if I can get the 1.25 cents redemption then it’s an instant $500 profit vs how long it would take for investing the $2000 to earn $500 lol
I’m not really sure why you’re here, to be honest. Just check the portal and see the redemption options to find what works for you. Come back if you have any specific questions. But just a heads up, travel redemption is totally off the table.
