I saw the thread about overrated credit cards and thought it’d be interesting to flip the script. What do you think is the most underrated credit card out there?
Personally, I think the new Citi Strata Premier is flying under the radar as a fantastic travel credit card. It offers 3x points on some really valuable categories like gas stations, groceries, restaurants, hotels, and air travel, which is impressive for a mid-tier card. Plus, there’s a $100 hotel credit that offsets the $95 annual fee, and you earn 10x points on hotel and car rental bookings through Citi Travel.
When compared to cards like the Chase Sapphire Reserve (CSR) and the Venture X (VX), which are more expensive, the Citi Strata Premier seems like a strong contender in the mid-tier category. It even seems to outperform the Chase Sapphire Preferred (CSP) and the Wells Fargo Journey in terms of earnings, although Chase might have the edge with its transfer partners and customer service.
What do you think? Is the Citi Strata Premier as good as I think it is, or are there other underrated cards that deserve more attention?
BoA tailored cash in the internet purchases sector, I will say.
It grants you 3% on all online, phone, internet, and streaming expenses, with a cap of $2,500 per quarter for each of these categories taken together. If you shop online somewhere other than Amazon, it seems pretty damn excellent to me and covers other categories that are difficult to find coverage for. It is a visa, which may be helpful, and it covers wholesale clubs at 2% as well.
Spending $2500 on home improvement stores is also an excellent deal, but you may get greater deals at Kroger or Usbar. However, you may use that card instead of the boa card for a quarter.
The Citi Strata Premier is indeed an underrated gem. It provides great value for its annual fee, especially if you focus on everyday spending categories like gas, groceries, and dining.
Other Overlooked Cards to Consider:
Discover it Cashback Match: Features a straightforward cashback program with a generous match on rewards for the first year.
Capital One SavorOne Cash Rewards Credit Card: Offers strong rewards on dining, entertainment, and popular streaming services.
Bank of America® Customized Cash Rewards Credit Card: Provides 3% cash back on two out of four categories you choose each year.
Remember, the “best” credit card for you will depend on your spending habits and priorities. It’s crucial to compare different options and select the card that best fits your financial needs.
