What is the best Gas AND Transit Card available right now?

Hey all, currently looking to fill in a gap in my credit card set up. Currently looking for something that will fill in the gap of the categories above. I do a bit of traveling for work and have a girlfriend I do a bit of driving for. Anyone know a good card that hits both of these categories? I’m impartial to cash back or travel.

One popular option is the WF Autograph card.

I’ve thought about this, not crazy about Wells Fargo but definitely interested in seeing if they expand their transfer partners in the future. Seems like they’re really taking a dive into credit.

If you were a big spender, it might be worthwhile to consider the AmEx Business Gold. Gas and transit would qualify as monthly 4X categories and the astronomical AF (±$400) would qualify you for Walmart+, which, in turn, would come with a basic Paramount+ plan and 25% off all Burger King purchases through the BK mobile app.
I’m not saying that BK has the best food but 25%, together with app loyalty points, could buy a snoot full of onion rings, friend. I’m partial to the Impossible Whopper with extra patty. It fills the gullet nicely!

@RewardsRanger3
Lol, I’ve never seen someone sell the Burger King benefit this hard for getting a biz gold :joy:. I’m surprised you didn’t mention the free Whopper every 3 months!

But to tag onto the biz gold idea, you also get $20/mo towards FedEx, Grubhub, or office supplies. I usually just do a grubhub pickup order to use this credit.

Maybe the main selling point is the sign up bonus. Just got a biz gold with a 175k SUB. The SUB alone covers a few years of annual fees.

Amex Blue Cash Preferred has 3% on Gas and Transit.

Can you convert to Amex points?

No, cash back in the form of a statement credit.

Ah, was wondering if same sort deal as Savor and Venture X.

@Xen
Unfortunately not. I typically use the Chase Sapphire Preferred for travel and transit (2X), Amex for gas (3%). Might start using my Chase Ink Cash for gas next year (2X).

No.

Yes, you can get more when you product change a card. Say a double cash to a 2nd custom cash.

Over the next few years I’m going to try and get a 3rd, 4th and 5th assuming everything works out.

@Dean
I have two Custom Cash and a Rewards+, I’m debating on converting the Rewards+ into a third Custom Cash and then getting a new Rewards+ when the 4-year SUB period is up, and just bank the points in the account until I get the new one.

I should probably wait after the new year so I can cash out the points I have now and use up all 2025’s allotment.

@Halston
I thought the same with my R+ but I’m holding off for now.

You could take a look at the AAA Travel Advantage card. It’s 5% back on gas, and 3% back on dining, groceries, and travel which can include passenger railways. Not sure if it would include intra-city transit like MTA, DC Metro or Boston’s T. Cash back is capped on the 5% category.

I just keep it simple with CCC, only use it for gas.

Meh, unfortunately not an option for me. I pay about $175 for train tix every 2 weeks. Missing a lot of opportunity for some rewards or cash back somewhere!

WF Autograph. Honestly, if you’re worried about scandals and banks, you can’t really bank anywhere. Citi just got in trouble for helping cartels launder money, Chase fucks customers over all the time, and Synchrony is just, well, dog shit customer service.
