Hey everyone! I wanted to share a data point about using an old Marriott marketing email to bypass the pop-up for the Brilliant card. I missed the last elevated offer in May 2024 because I couldn’t get past the pop-up, despite trying everything. Last Thursday, after another failed attempt, I came across a Reddit thread suggesting the use of a Marriott marketing email to get around the issue. I found an old email promoting the Chase Marriott cards, clicked the link, and was able to select and apply for the Brilliant card. I was approved with a $10K credit limit.
Also, after opening the Brilliant, Amex reduced the credit limit on my Aspire card by $10K. I’m not sure if it’s because I hit Amex’s maximum allowable credit or if it’s due to low utilization, but I thought it might be helpful to mention
Your Aspire card’s credit limit might have been lowered by Amex due to their credit exposure limits or your credit usage. To manage such changes, keep track of how much credit you use and your total credit limits.
I had a similar issue with applying for a credit card offer and found a workaround through an old marketing email. I was struggling with pop-ups on the application site, but after discovering a Reddit tip, I used an old Marriott marketing email link to bypass the issue and successfully applied for the Chase Brilliant card. I got approved with a $10K limit. However, after opening the Brilliant card, Amex reduced the credit limit on my Aspire card by $10K. It might be due to hitting Amex’s credit limit cap or low utilization. Just wanted to share this in case it helps anyone else facing similar issues with credit card applications and limits.
