US Bank Shopper Visa - Made Purchase Before 6% Category Enrollment

Hi everyone, I just got the US Bank Shopper Visa because I wanted to make a large purchase.

  • June 7th morning: I made a large purchase on the BestBuy website.
  • June 7th evening: I realized I hadn’t submitted my rewards categories, so I went onto the portal to select them.
  • June 10th: The transaction posted on my US Bank account. The original authorization is still pending, so the first transaction might have just been a hold.

My Questions:

  1. Will I get the 6% cash back on this purchase?
  2. Do I just need to activate the category before the quarter ends?
  3. I’ve read that you won’t see the rewards until after the quarter ends, so do I need to wait until June to find out?

I’ve been afraid to open the box in case I need to return the item. Thanks in advance for any advice!

It was with the Cash+ that I erred. US Bank is adamant about this, clearly stating that the full Cashback is only earned on transactions made after the bonus enrollment. Each other only receives 1%.

You should not get it as you did not activate it properly. Maybe you ask beg US Bank to do you a solid and give the cashback anyways.

I assume they would go by the date and time you made the purchase, but fingers crossed you got in on time!
