I recently applied for the Venture X card and was promptly denied. The reason given was that my income was insufficient. However, I’m a bit confused about this because my financial situation seems strong. Here’s a quick rundown:
Income: $375K
FICO Score: 790
Current Cards: Bilt, Amazon Prime, CSU, and CSR (all for 3-7 years)
Limits: ~$30K each on CSU and CSR
Payment History: I pay my balance in full each month via autopayment
Credit Activity: No new credit cards in the last 2 years and no history of churning cards
Given my high income, excellent credit score, and strong payment history, I’m not sure why the application was automatically denied. Has anyone else experienced this or have any advice on what I might be missing?
I didn’t get any help. You can try calling them, but from what I know, Cap1 uses an algorithm for approvals and usually doesn’t change their decision.
One possible issue could be that you accidentally typed in a number that was too low on your application, which might have caused the denial. This has happened to others here before.
Call Capital One directly and talk to their customer service. They have separate lines for debit and credit cards. I don’t remember the credit card line number, but you can call and ask for it.
