Although I’m fortunate enough to have no AF thanks to grandfathering in, I’m wondering whether CapOne will nerf this card anytime soon. This is my oldest card, and I don’t want to part with it (16 years old).
Credit card issuers often adjust terms and conditions over time. However, given the longevity of your account and your loyalty as a customer, it’s less likely that Capital One will make significant changes to your account.
Factors Affecting Potential Changes:
- Economic Conditions: Economic downturns might lead to stricter credit policies.
- Industry Trends: Shifts in the credit card industry can influence issuer decisions.
- Risk Assessment: Capital One may reassess your creditworthiness based on various factors.
Protecting Your Card Benefits:
- Monitor Your Account: Regularly review your account statements for any changes in terms or conditions.
- Understand Your Rights: Familiarize yourself with consumer protection laws regarding credit cards.
- Diversify Rewards: Consider having a secondary card for specific spending categories.
While there’s no guarantee that your card’s benefits will remain unchanged forever, taking proactive steps can help you protect your rewards.
