Paypal is ending their 2% cashback - what will you use instead

Title, no more 2% unlimited starting November. I don’t really want another 1.5%, so I was thinking of letting it lapse. What is everyone looking at now?

The Fidelity card is great. It offers a flat 2% on everything, automatically deposits to your brokerage account, and has no foreign transaction fees.

I agree about Fidelity. I’m actually switching to a two-card setup using Fidelity and Venture X.

@Flynn
Out of curiosity, why not go with SavorOne?

Why Venture X and not SavorOne? I prefer the benefits of Venture X because I travel a lot.

And for Fidelity, I want my credit card rewards to go into my investing account, so I’ll maximize that by using Fidelity for all non-Venture X spending (everything but flights, hotels, and rental cars).

@Flynn
Sorry, I meant why not get the Savor card to cover most of your bases with 3% and then transfer to Venture X?

I do have the Savor card coming. I actually just upgraded my old Quicksilver to it today. I didn’t know you could transfer Savor cashback into Venture X points.

Is there a downside to transferring from SavorOne to Venture X? I assume your points aren’t worth as much when you use them that way, right?

@Flynn
What benefit does the Fidelity card add? Isn’t Venture X a catch-all 2% too, with more benefits that you’re already paying for?

For one, the Fidelity card has no annual fee, while Venture X has a $395 annual fee.

It goes into investment accounts.

If you have a Fidelity taxable brokerage or Cash Management Account, it has an account number and routing number you can use to deposit cashback from any card. You can get a checkbook for it too and use it like a high-yield checking account.

@Kari
I just set this up. I got my Fidelity 2% just last week.

@Fenn
Yes, I’ve been using it for 4 months.
It’s certainly a great card!
I’ve already gotten about $300 in cashback (half of which is from manufactured spending, though).

I got a Fidelity card, but they only gave me a $500 credit limit and denied my request for more. I have spotless credit (over 800), a solid income, and no debt.

That’s disappointing. I’ve been looking at some alternatives like the Citi Double Cash or Wells Fargo Active Cash for solid 2% cashback across the board.

Fidelity 2% will be my next card, but I’m not in a rush. A few months or even a year of 1.5% won’t hurt me.

Same here. I’m hoping for that 4% targeted offer that’s been going around too.

@Wade
Oh man, I didn’t even know that was a thing. Fingers crossed I get the offer in time for my honeymoon so I can use the no foreign transaction fees.

@Wade
I assume that 4% offer doesn’t come with a $150 sign-up bonus, right?
