New Chase Sapphire Preferred SUB -- 60k points + $300 travel credit within first year

Was browsing through the Chase website when I came across a new Chase Sapphire Preferred SUB for 60k points + $300 back as a travel credit within the first year of card opening.

It looks like minimum spend on offer remains at 4k over 3 months. May not be as valuable in terms of point redemptions as the prior 80k (or 100k) point offers in the past, but seems like this offer may move the needle for anyone considering the card and has some upcoming travel plans.

I signed up for this card on 9/30, got it yesterday, and now this happens. RIP me.

Usually within 30 days of getting the card you can call them and see if they’ll match a different offer. It can’t hurt to ask.

Send a secure message through the app or website. I applied for a 75k SUB and they upgraded me to an 85k point SUB that came out a few days later just from asking.

Same here, few days before you :weary:

Just called member services and they’ve “escalated” the request to get the credit. Here’s to hoping.

@SlopRules
Sent them a message and they got back to me and said no they can’t add the $300 promo which sucks.

I signed up 8/30 and got the same deal. The $300 travel credit per year is part of the card, not a SUB.

Edit: sorry. I was wrong. It’s for reserve, not preferred that it’s for any travel purchase.

It’s important to note it’s for purchases made through Chase Travel that you get $300. Not any travel.

Wonder if it can be combined with the recent $200 back with $500 spend on hotels offer that is going around.

Nah. It’s any travel type purchase. And it’s instant, for a total of $300 per year. Parking, tolls, etc., count. And you’ll get an instant credit for the charge.

@Greene
According to the linked offer, it’s travel purchases through Chase Travel:

“Plus, get up to $300 in Chase Travel statement credits in the first year of account opening for any purchases made on Chase Travel.”

@Greene
Are you sure? That sounds like the annual $300 credit with CSR, but this CSP offer specifies the $300 is “for any purchases made on Chase Travel” - and seems to be in addition to the annual $50 hotel credit CSP gives normally.

@Skye
Fuuuuck. My bad. Yeah. I’m thinking of reserve. Not preferred. My bad.

This seems like a great SUB, contemplating if I should pull the trigger or hold out for a higher point offer though since I don’t have any immediate travel plans.

They previously ran an offer for 75k points or 85k points if you signed up in branch. Both came with the normal $50/yr travel credit through the portal. If you’re not in a rush, I’d rather have the 25k extra points if that offer was to come back around. Made use of it myself, and definitely have gotten more than $250 in value from the 25k points.

Just 10 days back I applied for this card directly from the website for 60k. Is there any chance that Chase will update the offer to 60k+$300 travel credit?

People have had success in the past sending a secure message or calling support to try and get an offer matched. Might be worth a shot.

@Sal
I did that with the Ink - approved for 100k offer, then messaged to have the 120k bonus applied (and they allowed it).

I applied last week for a 60k SUB and just got a mailer with an 80k offer. Escalation supervisor said they would match the mailer offer and adjust in 3-5 days.
