Looking for a credit card that is similar to USBAR. I don’t believe I was approved for the USBAR, waiting for the letter. What are some other options that are similar? I want a catch all card that I can use for just about everything. Travel maybe 1-4 times a year.
You should call recon for the USBAR.

How do I go about that and what do I need to tell them?

Wait for further update from USB, call tomorrow or Wednesday. Pending review doesn’t mean approved or denied. I got that when applying for the AR a few months back and a few days later I got my approval email.
@Ripley
When I call it says denied
Call and see if you can speak to a human being for recon; you may or may not be able to get a hold of someone today due to the bank holiday of Veteran’s Day.
Doesn’t make much sense to me though. I have a credit score of 750+ and 0 new cards in the last 24 months.
Cash back or travel rewards?

Open to either right now.

Besides USBAR, 3 other travel forward catch-all cards that come to mind:
- Capital One Venture X (consumer or business flavors)
- Capital One Venture (consumer)
- American Express Blue Business Plus (business)
@Bevan
Thank you! Aren’t Capital One cards a Mastercard? I shop at Costco a good bit, so don’t want that, and I’m not using it for any business purposes.

Consumer Venture X is a Visa Infinite card.
@Fynn
Yes, of these four, the consumer Venture X is the only Visa (Visa Infinite). Both Venture and the business Venture X are Mastercard World Elites. Obviously, the Amex card isn’t a Visa either.
@Bevan
Interested in cashback cards? Take a look at these resources from the sidebar:
@Bevan
This is the first time I’ve ever seen someone recommend Venture who isn’t paid to do so. Why?
$95 fee, and its only way to offset that is free PreCheck. At best that’s $30/year, but free PreCheck is offered on multiple $0 cards too. One of which is a 2% catch-all (Fidelity).
@Noe
I noticed you have been tossing around that argument for a while now. For the record, I have never solicited a referral on this SUB or in DMs with people I’ve encountered on this SUB, consistent with our r/CreditCards rules…
In this case, they want a Visa, so Venture now won’t work since Venture is currently issued as a Mastercard World Elite.
