I came across news that 60,000 miles can get you $1000 for flights.
American Airlines
You can earn 60,000 AAdvantage bonus miles
after making your first purchase and paying the $99 yearly fee in full, both within the first 90 days

No catch, this is why we enjoy this.

The real issue is that many people struggle with managing money, which is what banks rely on to profit. A lot of people end up losing money even after big sign up bonuses.
No catch if you’re in the group that knows how to play smart.
@Keats
The catch is that most people either can’t pay off the card or don’t use the miles wisely. It’s hard to expect everyone to stick to the plan.
No catch. Sometimes you can find links for 70k or 60k plus an extra 10k for adding an authorized user.

Right now, there’s a 70k offer available with just one spend plus the annual fee. I’ll share the link in my post.

My spouse and I each got AA cards for 99 each. We are taking one of our daughters to Milan from Newark and returning from Barcelona, 27k a ticket so these cards will cover 5 out of 6 tickets, and I hope to cover the last one with Capital One miles
@Jalen
That’s awesome. I got the Citi and Barclays AA cards for 80k and 60k points. This will take me and my husband to Paris and back home from Amsterdam on points for our trip next summer.
We also got CSP + United a few years ago and earned enough miles to fly to Europe for our honeymoon in business class, then we got a great upgrade for less than an economy ticket could cost.
@Jalen
That’s great to hear!

No catch, the hardest part is getting approved.
You can often find referrals for 70,000 miles even.

Just Google, ‘70k sign up bonus aviator card.’ It’s a public offer.
The catch is knowing how to redeem the points and if you can afford to travel.
Just earning some free airfare doesn’t mean your trip is totally free. It still costs money, which means you’re spending.
@Niall
Same goes for hotel cards. Unless you’re spending a lot on travel after the sign up bonus, most don’t earn enough points for good redemption value.
No catch, it’s a bonus to attract sign-ups. After that, they hope you use the card regularly or that it encourages loyalty to the airline. There’s a stat that says 80% of miles are never used, which means they get people who pay the annual fee every year without using any of the bonuses or perks.
@Marlon
It’s like the folks who get pulled in by an Amex Gold, but don’t spend enough to earn anything worthwhile after the sign up bonus.
