I am thinking about applying for the Amazon Prime Visa through Chase. The Amazon card would be used for both Amazon and gas transactions. Is it worthwhile? I presently use my CFU for Amazon and would get 2-2.5% more points with the Amazon card, but I am not sure whether handling six cards is worthwhile. Any Insight will be appreciated.
If you spend a lot on Amazon and have Prime, the card is really worth it because it is virtually a no-AF card.
If you pay your credit card payments in full each month, the interest rate is no longer relevant.
Are you already an Amazon Prime member? That is essential to receive the 5% Amazon cashback with the Chase Prime card. If not, you will only receive 3% back. That means you have to account for the $139 annual Amazon Prime subscription. You’ll need to perform the maths to see whether you’ve purchased enough to make it worthwhile.
Can someone with an Amazon Prime free trial subscription apply for this card, receive the $200 gift card sign-up bonus, and then terminate their prime free trial before it renews while keeping the credit card and $200 gift card?
Yes, I can confirm. I was able to sign up for the free 6-month student Prime trial, get the Prime Visa, and receive the $200 gift card. I can keep the card if I cancel Prime, but I believe some of its incentives are reduced without an active Prime subscription.
