Still no annual fee. Collision damage waiver for rental cars is also new, I think.
Nice for a no AF card!
I have a feeling Fidelity is cooking up something big with this card since they keep adding new features. Hopefully a rewards tier to compete with Platinum Honors, Smartly, and Robinhood.
@Birch
They already have a rewards tier for this card, but your assets have to be in managed accounts.

They discontinued that program recently as they plan on revamping it!
@Rebel
I’m sure the release of the Smartly coming up has sent all their internal PM’s scurrying to come up with something competitive.

I hope so! But also the Fidelity card is managed by Elan, a subsidiary of US Bank…
I wonder if we’ll see any news on their discontinued rewards program (extra cash back if you have money with Fidelity) soon. They’ve talked about bringing it back, but there’s never been any concrete news. This is a decently sized change to a card that has remained pretty static in its benefits for a long time.
Is the collision damage waiver secondary or primary insurance?

Secondary.
If you already have personal auto insurance or other insurance that covered theft or damage, this benefit reimburses you for the deductible portion of your coverage, along with any unreimbursed administrative or loss-of-use charges from the car rental company.
If you do not already have an eligible insurance plan, this benefit reimburses you for covered damages or theft or administrative and loss-of-use charges imposed by the rental company, as well as reasonable towing charges that occur while you are responsible for the vehicle.
@Finlo
Thanks, guess primary insurance would have been too good to be true.

Looks like secondary:
If you do have personal automobile insurance or other insurance that covers theft or damage, this benefit reimburses you for the deductible portion of your car insurance or other insurance, along with any unreimbursed portion of administrative and loss-of-use charges imposed by the car rental company, as well as reasonable towing charges while the car was your responsibility.
Nice unexpected perk for a no-AF card. Only other one I can think of that offers this is the PenFed Pathfinder, and even that one does technically have an AF, but it’s waived for both members of the military and checking account holders.
Edit: Okay guys I get it. I missed the Altitude Connect. Please check the other comments before typing out your own lol.
@Zed
US Bank Altitude Connect gives global entry, 4 free lounge access with priority pass, and has no annual fee.

Good to know. This one used to have an annual fee, though, right? Or am I misremembering?
@Zed
Yes, but they removed the annual fee now, which is great.
@Zed
The PenFed card also has $100 of airline incidentals! Great card to get paid to keep. Also, the checking needs $500/month; super easy if your work lets you split up your paycheck.
The US Bank Altitude Connect offers $100 Precheck/Global Entry credit, and it is a no AF card.

@Zed
US Bank Altitude Connect would be a better comparison. Card recently changed to no AF but retained its Global Entry/TSA credit & 4 priority pass visits, plus no FTF.
All considered both seem to be no-brainer keeper cards for travel perks alone. Not to mention the Fidelity Card’s better point multipliers.
Interesting how only $100 is covered especially since Global Entry is now $120, but nonetheless a great addition to the card.

I suspect they were working on this before the fee was bumped up and just didn’t update it accordingly. Slowly other issuers are updating the benefits to reflect the higher fee.
