Does anyone know if the Capital One Platinum Secured Card is a good option?

I’m doing some research to find a card that can help me start rebuilding my credit. Right now, my credit score is 640, and I have a balance on a previous card that I misused when I was 19. I’m working on paying it off slowly, but I really want to focus on rebuilding my credit.

If the Capital One Platinum Secured Card isn’t a good choice, I’d love any other suggestions you got…

I used the Capital One Secured Platinum to rebuild my credit. It’s gonna take some time, but no matter what card you pick, the key is to pay on time. It doesn’t really matter which big card company you go with.

Pay off your current card before you get another one. You shouldn’t be opening a new card until you’ve paid off the one you have. Walk before you run

Check out those prequalify tools to see if you can snag an unsecured rewards credit card, or go for a secured rewards card that can graduate. Bank of America and Capital One both offer those.

Nothing wrong with the Platinum, but I’d recommend going for the Quicksilver instead.

Any major bank card (as long as it’s not a predatory one) is good for rebuilding your credit, as long as it doesn’t have fees. There’s nothing wrong with the Capital One Platinum.

Bro you can open any secured card. I reccomend discover secured , bofa secured, and capital one secured. In that order. Open all 3 secured if you can

The Capital One Platinum Secured card is a solid choice for rebuilding your credit, especially if your score is around 640. Since it’s a secured card, you’ll need to put down a deposit, but it’s refundable, and the card reports to the major credit bureaus, so as long as you pay on time, you can boost your credit history.

Some perks include no annual fee, the chance to raise your credit limit over time without dropping more cash, and a lower minimum deposit than other secured cards.

If you’re looking for other options, check out the Discover It Secured card—it gives you cash back rewards and does account reviews to possibly upgrade to an unsecured card later. Or there’s the Citi Secured Mastercard, which doesn’t have rewards but is a good option if you’re serious about building your credit.

The key with any card is to pay on time and keep your balance low.
