But you’re paying a $200 AF. You’d need to pay $40k in property tax before you break even.

I have the premier and my purchases is $200k+ a year. That extra .5% makes a difference especially since those purchases fall under other category

Yeah but technically Chase is paying that AF for the first 5 years :man_shrugging:

@Vernon
You have to compare it to the other options. The Blue biz cash offers $500, TD Bank biz solutions is up to $750 with no AF and the Cap 1 spark cash select offers $2k with a $150 AF.

Comparing to the TD, you’d come out ahead $50 plus 0.5% on large purchases the first year. You’d have to spend $40k in large purchases each subsequent year to break even.

@Washington
I get what you’re saying. I just prefer the simplicity with Chase. Also we spend almost 2k a month on phone and Internet so this paired with the ink cash covers the AF plenty for me. And Chase threw 2k at me for opening them.

I do have the blue cash, got it because it’s flat 2% no AF. But just like the biz prime card I don’t like how Amex kinda hides or hoards your points until you pay them. I’ve found Chase pays you exactly how they advertise, simple, no games.

@Vernon
CIC and the premier aren’t even the same ecosystem. If $200/yr is worth the convenience of using one bank instead of 2 then that’s fine but that’s the best option.

@Fynn
Sign up bonuses would still be better for me. Otherwise it’s thousands in fees just to buy Chase. And the points aren’t as good outside of Hyatt stays.

Ink Premier points can’t transfer, so no Hyatt stays. They aren’t real UR points despite being advertised as such.

@Kaius
What the hell? That sucks.

Personal card. I have no desire for a business card.

Not sustainable, it will never happen.

What about the Robinhood Gold card…they did it

We don’t even know if it’s a UR earning card or if it will have some dumb rule like the Ink premiere.

@Brier
Then why not get a 2% cash back from another bank like Citi or Wells Fargo? Cash back setups are not bank dependent like travel points are.

Isn’t the Freedom Flex 2%? On my CardPointers App, it shows it’s 2 cents per point back.

it’s 1% but your app values chase points as 2 cents per point.

@Mary
You’re joking…so the app was incorrect all this time?? Holy crap. I actually thought, so what’s the actual value then??

the value of the point is something that differs person to person.

you can check online to see why the default 2.1 cents per point was used as a default value, here. I think people average 2.1 cpp mostly when they transfer to Hyatt and book rooms using converted chase points to Hyatt points.

for me, since I have the CSR and I have no problems using the travel portal, I value the points at 1.5 cpp and I modified my app to reflect that.

That would be a very weak SUB compared to existing Ink SUBs, if it’s true. Elevated inks were 90k for $6k or 120k for $8k spend. I have a hard time seeing how an additional 30k UR for double the MSR would be attractive.

@Nicholas
it’s still a great sub for people who can hit that $15k MSR (business owners whose operating costs run that high). The real debate is whether that AF will be justifiable
