Compare Capital One SavorOne vs. Discover IT Card with a PC in the future?

As a 19-year-old student, I’m thinking of obtaining my first credit card. Although I believe the Discover card’s rewards are more alluring and practical, I have discovered that using a PC may typically improve my credit score without requiring me to cancel my student card in the future. Therefore, given that Capital One offers far superior card possibilities for life beyond college, the Capital One card might be a better investment in the future. Alternatively, the best of both worlds: is it feasible to maintain open the Discover IT credit line and apply for a future Capital One credit card at the same time?

As a student, I chose the Discover card as my first credit card mainly for the $100 referral bonus. Six months later, I got the Capital One SavorOne and a US Bank card. I think it’s fine to keep the Discover card open for a long time. Having it open without using it much won’t harm your credit score.

@Charlie Oh, I see. I appreciate your advice to leave the card open.
