I’m trying to build my credit from scratch and have been pre-approved for two credit cards. The main difference I see is that the Quicksilver offers 1.5% cash back but has an annual fee. I currently don’t have a credit card, have no debt, and earn around $28k a year.

Generally, the Quicksilver card is preferable because of its cash back rewards and introductory APR. However, if you have fair credit and are new to establishing credit history, the Platinum card could be more suitable.

Unlike the Capital One Platinum Credit Card, the Quicksilver boasts an intro APR period for new cardholders: 0% intro APR on purchase.
