Can I reopen a closed credit card?

Last year, I made some mistakes that significantly impacted my credit score. At the time, I didn’t know how to address it and just lived with the consequences. Recently, I got into the points game and came across an article mentioning the possibility of reopening closed credit cards.

Is it worth calling them up and asking about reopening? How long do they keep canceled card information on record?

Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

Reopening a closed credit card can be beneficial, especially if you have a favorable track record with the account and want to utilize its perks.
You can actually contact your card issuer and request a card reactivation which cannot take even 5 minutes.
Note that specific policies vary by issuer therefore you should follow the procedures laid down by your issuer

Every time I apply right now, I keep being turned down. :frowning:
