Can I redeem an Amazon gift card from Bitrefill without adding a credit/debit card to my account?

Bitrefill has a warning on their page saying:

“Don’t use gift cards on new Amazon accounts without credit/debit cards added, or your account can be locked until they can verify your identity.”

Can anyone help me understand if I can redeem the gift card without adding a credit or debit card? Thanks!

It’s more about Amazon’s anti-fraud policies. I’d follow Bitrefill’s warning since they know how their system works with Amazon.

That’s frustrating. I thought Bitrefill didn’t require KYC, at least for small amounts.

You’re mixing things up. It’s not Bitrefill that requires KYC—it’s Amazon. Bitrefill is just warning you about Amazon’s rules, which could cause issues if you’re not careful.

Oh, I get it now. So does Bitrefill itself ask for KYC with every purchase?

No, Bitrefill doesn’t ask for KYC with every purchase. They only require it for certain products, like phone refills or eSIMs, or if you want higher purchase limits. For most regular gift cards, you won’t need to provide any personal info beyond an email address.

@Amory
Got it, thanks for explaining!

They ended up refunding me!
