Best credit card if you fly mostly American Airlines

:earth_africa: Hey people,

I need advice on where to start my research. I used to travel extensively for work, often near an American Airlines hub, which helped me rack up miles with an AA Citi card. But now, with reduced travel (4-6 times a year, mostly business), and bookings through Concur, accumulating and using miles has become challenging.

I’m looking for new ways to accumulate miles for occasional award travel with my wife. Considering options like Venture X or Chase since American Airlines still dominates my area. Any tips on where to begin?

I appreciate any help you can provide.

The Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive World Elite Mastercard® is a solid choice for American Airlines travelers. It gives you extra miles on AA purchases and perks like lounge access and priority boarding. If you’re still considering other options, the Chase Sapphire Preferred® is good for general travel rewards but doesn’t have the airline-specific benefits.

The Venture X card is excellent for earning miles on everyday purchases and has great travel perks. Chase cards, like the Sapphire Preferred or Reserve, offer strong rewards and flexible point transfers to various airline partners. Both options can help you rack up points that are useful for occasional travel. Look at the sign-up bonuses and rewards rates to pick the best fit for your needs

There aren’t any really good systems of cards that allow you to accumulate miles for AA unfortunately.

As of right now the Bilt card is the only option you will have as a transfer partner. That and spending on an AA card.
