Technically that is manufactured spend in Amex’s eyes and your cash back COULD get clawed back.
Your mileage may vary. Just understand there’s risk involved beyond just missing out on the protections a CC offers you on your purchases.

No. Why would they only care about that when you’re manufacturing 5% extra CB? That’s big on their bottom line.

Gift cards are a good way to do this. I bought almost $2000 in Walmart gift cards with my Freedom cards from the website with Paypal and shipped them to me, and then used them at Sam’s and Walmart in-store. Worked great, got 5% at Walmart and Sam’s.

you have to be careful doing this especially when you start getting up in the thousands of dollars in spend.
